JUNE 7, 2011 Mike Rowe Testifies Before the Senate Commerce Committee
His name was Carl Knobel, and he made his living in Baltimore as a Master Electrician. We mentioned in a previous blog post that this blog is now being featured on Mike Rowe's TradesHub. Mike himself had some very insightful things to say in the Senate recently, that we feel is worth of reposting here. Original article is here: [link]. I’m here today because of my Grandfather.

MAY 17, 2009 DIY or NO AYE AYE!
Because we did not do free estimates and charged fees like many Electricians and Plumbers we were at least able to reclaim costs for any lost time, etc. In suburban Baltimore, Lynne Sherman was the temporary fix when her husband’s attempt to hang molding ended up puncturing a pipe, which sent water spouting into their daughter’s bedroom. When I read this in the NY Times I had a good laugh. in my current incarnation very much encourage DIY when appropriate. There is something empowering about doing a home improvement project but there is also a great risk. Simple ask a handyman.
