Conferences are excellent ways to further your skills and work towards recertification or a renewal. The American Welding Society (AWS) has an excellent program where attending a conference earns you PDH's, or Personal Development Hours. These hours can be used towards a renewal or recertification through AWS. We have a building in Charlotte (Imaginon!) Melissa- Regarding the ImaginOn facility here in Charlotte, the information being reported is flawed in that the project has been in receipt of such popularity that the operating hours have increased dramatically over the baseline energy projections – the energy performance per unit scale has remained constant but the lights are on a helluva lot more than the owner anticipated during design/construction. GREEN GODDESS | MONDAY, MAY 23, 2011 To LEED or Not - That is the question She’s the executive director for the Charlotte region chapter of the U.S. I have always struggled with the monopoly or dominance LEED has on the current green build marketplace. And given that it is NOT the panacea of green build or energy efficiency there are always issues when you prescribe one dogma over the other. As a proponent of Green Build and Energy Efficiency I have seen one and/or both in a building they are not mutually inclusive. But to fully integrate a building and make it green it should have both.
