GREEN GODDESS DECEMBER 12, 2011 The Cost of Living A recent study came out from the Urban Institute showing the most expensive cities in which to live with the minimum income needed to live there. and no shock its the same as it has been for decades - Wash DC, San Francisco, New York. Another study by two Brown University Economists found that without diversity of all kinds cities actually decline economically. Cities for the rich and those who are too poor to leave and work in service jobs and others moving further away to areas they can manage to find work and manage to live above water. That compares with the national poverty level of $22,050 for a family of four. GREEN GODDESS JUNE 4, 2009 The Emerald City wins again! It declared Seattle the MOST CREATIVE CITY OF THE YEAR. Given this year and the state of the world this is one recognition that I would seriously decline. left 10 years ago and lived a variety of places, divorce and the outrageous cost of living in the now bankrupt California (and the bay area's notorious expense) left me going "well the dog you know." Accused often of being from New York as I have an "accent" and talk fast. Some of the article is a silly almost Press Release of 2005 proportions. have to agree. Since my long term goals are to move into commercial retrofitting I have decided to take the necessary steps that will aid that including relocating to find the kind of work I am seeking. The rhetoric, the insanity and the absolute veracity of the team on the right to denigrate anything and everything anyone not of their "ilk" has become disturbing.
