| | | TRAIN4TRADESKILLS FEBRUARY 16, 2012 Bright Future for the Green Economy With increasingly higher demand for professionals in the renewable sector, the UK’s environmental charity organisation, Global Action Plan and global management consultant Accenture , have launched a two-year collaborative partnership to help young people gain the necessary skills for the emerging green economy. The scheme will provide green skills development for young people from disadvantaged backgrounds or those who are not currently in education or training, to build their employability skills, offer new opportunities and address the current skills shortage in the green sector. | TRADESMEN INSIGHTS FEBRUARY 16, 2012 Here’s an Example of a Small Manufacturer Who’s Leveraging Social Media I always like stories of the little guys who take on the 800# gorilla and win the battle. One of the benefits of social media is you don’t have to be an 800# gorilla to succeed. CONSTRUCTION LIEN BLOG | THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 16, 2012 Why Bond Claims Can Be Better Than Mechanic Lien Claims See original article at Why Bond Claims Can Be Better Than Mechanic Lien Claims It’s surprising how often I encounter disappointment when I explain that a traditional mechanic’s lien cannot be filed against a state, county or federal project. The terms “mechanic’s lien” and “lien” get thrown around so much in the construction industry, that they’ve acquired a mystic existence. If there aren’t “lien rights,” disappointment ensues. In many ways, payment bond claims are preferable to a traditional mechanics lien claim. MORE >> -
DARREN SLAUGHTER | THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 16, 2012 Small Things Do Matter: An Example in Action If you have spent any time on this site at all, you know I am a firm believer in the “devil is in the details” approach to marketing and web design. In fact, Chris Spoerl calls me the King of the Tweaks. Maybe it’s because I am an uptight Virgo, or the fact that I get it from my follow up crazed Mother (love you Mom), but I look for/at things that most people ignore. And today, I have a story for you that has nothing to do with marketing or website design, but about just being a good person, and God forbid, capitalizing on it. Goodwill in your local market.
