OK, got the picture? | GREEN GODDESS APRIL 8, 2012 Plastic Surgery Anyone? And I read yesterday about a significant project in New York slated for destruction - The Orange County Government Center in Goshen, NY. This building seems to not suffer from a blight on a city scape but from construction defects that may or may not be the result of design issues. headquarters in Washington and Boston City Hall. The new Tribeca. The New York Times today had an article discussing the most recent generous donation to the park's fundraising efforts to finish what is perhaps an elegant statement about the challenges and successes of public and private partnerships when done right. | GREEN GODDESS JUNE 15, 2011 Fab-tastic Today's New York Times has a great article on a Pre-fab project used for student housing. Our suburban sprawl thanks to the unreal costs of housing in urban centers and the building boom has removed much farm able land that once was adjacent to our cities. reprint an Article from the American Prospect on the declining availability of land for our new urban farmers. | GREEN GODDESS APRIL 11, 2011 Down the Up Staircase Yes I am a broken record when it comes to my harping on Education issues. left Education years ago for many reasons. also left because well some of what you hear about Educators are true. So in other words Education is not anymore or less batshit than any working field. What I did also experience is what most Educators call "churn." The first financial. Treasury. | | | | | | | | | -
GREEN GODDESS | MONDAY, APRIL 11, 2011 The Grapes of Wrath What is interesting as I study the current Census and align it with the "mythology" that Americans are a mobile lot and relocate in order to find work and establish urban areas often centered on certain industries - the Automotive industry - Detroit, Software/Technology - the Bay Area and so on, in reality the new economy is less about migratory patterns and about actual productivity and wealth building. Much of this is of course racial with Detroit being America's most segregated city. Between 2000 and 2009, six of them lost population – led, not surprisingly, by New Orleans. MORE >> -

GREEN GODDESS | WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 14, 2009 Green Walls the new "green" I read this article today and thought "oh here we go the newest trend, green walls are the new black" (using that eponymous fashion term semingly appropriate). Like Green Roofs I like them aesthetically and principally in Cities and Urban areas where anything green is at a premium. And given our state of Education no wonder change is the new socialism. So enjoy this year's new black in the green fashioned world. Next week I am sure something new will come along. Buildings can be attractive, practical and efficient. Wow assigning levels of recognition. MORE >> -
GREEN GODDESS | TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 24, 2009 Water Water Everywhere We are not the only city that suffers and currently our biggest problems are with again infrastructures that cannot handle the population, the change in climate and the simple fact they are OLD.
