Having the skills is one thing but are these really that technical a job to require all this intensive expensive education that must be tax payer supported or in fact private industry obligation to simply train and educate and more importantly pay their workers a liveable wage in which to pursue additional education and training on their own time and dime in which to advance if they so choose? And while many of these jobs were lost to competition with low-wage countries, even more vanished because of computer-driven machinery that can do the work of 10, or in some cases, 100 workers.
