Thanks to the users who’ve made requests for the following feature, we’ve added a new job planning report to Landscape Management Network’s estimating software. The Job Planner (Job Totals) report will print a summary of all your job resources (labor, equipment, materials and subs) by resource type, not by work area. The Chancellor of the Exchequer, George Osborne, has unveiled a new UK Guarantees scheme to accelerate major infrastructure projects and create new jobs in the building engineering industry. The new loan guarantees scheme will enable private sectors investors to benefit from more funding for big building projects which will generate jobs and help economic growth, the UK’s Economics and Finance Ministry said. “Investment in Infrastructure Projects is Crucial for Economic Growth”  . Nearly half of the 2, 000 people who took part in the ComRes survey  said they would consider civil engineering to be a ‘respected’ profession, alongside jobs such as lawyers and teachers. More than 46,000 jobs have been created as a result of the London 2012 construction project. Post-Olympic work, taking place just after the closing ceremony next month, is expected to create thousands of extra new jobs. 45% of the people who participated in the survey say they would consider civil engineering to be a ‘respected’ profession, alongside jobs such as lawyers and teachers.
