Last year, the City of Seattle passed a new ordinance , amending the Municipal Code to require large commercial buildings to benchmark their performance and disclose it to the City. Several years back, the City of Seattle created the Green Building Capital Initiative, with a goal to reduce energy consumption in Seattle’s existing building stock by 20%.
